Children's Congenital Blood Diseases Research Center

Considering the increasing importance of children's blood diseases and congenital blood diseases in the field of health, treatment, economics and medicine, the quantitative and qualitative expansion of this field in medical sciences universities across the country reveals the necessity of establishing a research center in this field. In this way, the research center for children's congenital blood diseases in 2013 succeeded in obtaining the approval in principle from the Council for the Development of Medical Sciences Universities of the country.

One of the incurable chronic diseases that is under special insurance protection is congenital blood diseases, two thirds of the country's pharmaceutical subsidy is spent on these two diseases. On the other hand, due to geographical and racial location, family marriages, nutritional problems and environmental pollution, many costly diseases occur in the field of blood and children's cancer. Among the reasons and areas available for the expansion of research centers in the field of blood and children's cancer in Iran, we can include strategic blood diseases (thalassemia, hemophilia and cancer), the growth rate of the population and especially the population under 15 years of age in Iran, Iran's location in He pointed out the belt of hereditary blood diseases, especially in deprived areas and the geographical extent of the country, and the problems of moving chronic patients. Considering the sensitive and strategic position of research in children's blood diseases and cancer, the establishment of the Children's Congenital Blood Diseases Research Center is considered a step in the direction of education, prevention, diagnosis and treatment in the direction of basic and even applied and clinical research.
